Local Driver Duties and Responsibilities

- Loading and Unloading Trucks and Trailers

- Pick Up and Drop Off Trailers/Containers, including Live Loading and Offloading Shipments

- Completing a Daily Truck Log and Daily Submitting BOLs, PODs and Trip Sheets

- Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting any problems via DVIR

- Complying with company, Customer and government regulations and rules

- Securing cargo and dealing with hazardous materials safely, as needed

- Communicating efficiently & respectfully with Dispatchers, Customers and Colleagues, while focusing on Customer service

- Assit in loading and off loading as required at customer location - Physically Fit to lift upto 40lbs.

- Performing emergency repairs adn improvising during break downs to move safely to next service station

- Driving Safely at all times using defensive driving techniques to prevent accidents and incidents.

- Communicating Proficiently in English Speaking, Listening and Writing

- Must be Organised, Valuable at Planning Routes and Take Detours as needed

- An outstanding driving record without accidents or major traffic violations

- Ability to adapt to changing conditions, troubleshoot equipment, and find new routes when needed
