We're Not Looking for Just a Painter
Peanut Butter Painting is one of the fastest-growing residential painting companies in BC.
We built our reputation on doing exceptional work, running tight jobs, and treating people right — clients and crew alike. We're growing fast, and we need someone who can grow with us.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to show up, roll walls, and clock out. This is a seat at the table for a painter who takes their craft seriously, leads by example, and has the ambition to move into project management as we scale. If that's you, keep reading.
Who You Are
A Craftsperson First
You've been painting long enough that the work is second nature — but you still care about the details. Prep, cut-in, back-roll: you do it right because you can't do it any other way. Your finishes are clean, your edges are straight, and your jobs look the same on day one as they do when the client walks through on completion day.
A Natural Leader on the Job Site
When you're on a job, people look to you. You don't have to demand respect — you earn it by knowing what you're doing and helping others do the same. You can read a site quickly, organize a crew, communicate with homeowners, and solve problems without calling someone to hold your hand. Jobs run smoother when you're on them.
Driven and Accountable
You take ownership. If something goes sideways, you don't point fingers — you figure it out. You show up when you say you will, you do what you say you'll do, and you hold yourself to a higher standard than anyone else expects of you. You want to win, and you want the team around you to win too.
Hungry for More
You're not looking for a dead-end job. You're looking for a company where your skill and drive actually get you somewhere.
You want to learn the business side — scheduling, quoting, client management — and eventually run projects, not just work them. You want a track, and you're ready to earn it.
What You'll Do
As a Lead Painter, you're the point person on your jobs. Day-to-day, that means:
- Fully leading residential interior and exterior painting projects from start to finish — prep, priming, painting, and final walkthrough — with no hand-holding required
- Managing job site organization, material ordering, and daily scheduling to keep jobs running on time and on budget
- Communicating directly with homeowners: setting expectations, answering questions, handling concerns professionally, and leaving a great impression
- Overseeing and mentoring junior painters and helpers on site
- Catching and flagging issues early and solving them — or escalating quickly
- Representing PBP's brand and standards on every job, every day
What You Bring
- 4+ years of professional painting experience — residential is a must, commercial is a bonus
- Proven ability to run a job on your own from prep through completion with zero micromanagement needed
- Strong experience with both interior and exterior work: surface prep, drywall repair, caulking, priming, and finish painting
- Experience managing or mentoring other painters on site
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Professional communicator — you present well and make clients feel confident
- A genuine desire to grow into a project management role — not just checking a box, but actually wanting to get there
Where You're Headed
This is a growth role. As PBP scales, we need leaders who understand the work from the ground up and can eventually run multiple projects, manage crews, and own client relationships end-to-end. The path to Project Manager is real and near-term.
