Fred Kau Plumbing and Heating is currently seeking 313A Service Refrigeration Journeyman to join our growing team. Fred Kau Plumbing & Heating Limited has been serving southern Ontario since 1974. With our continued growth, we have expanded into the HVAC, Refrigeration, and Residential renovation market and have built a successful team of professionals. Our primary focus is on providing the highest quality workmanship to our existing customers and our expanding customer base.
Reporting to the Service Manager, this role requires the individual to be available weekdays from 8am – 5pm and for rotating “on-call” after hours service calls, with on-call premium.
Duties
- Hours 8am-5pm – plus after hours on call rotation
- Respond to customers service calls in a courteous and professional manner
- Responsible for service calls and scheduled maintenance for refrigeration and mechanical equipment
- Complete on-site service notes and recommendations as well as follow up on any required quotes when needed
- Ability to work comfortably alone or with a team in a variety of working environments
- Job site installations when required
- Guide and assist apprentices to learn and grow as a team
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Valid 313 A Refrigeration License
- G1 or G2 License
- Working at heights, WHMIS, Ministry Four Step Health & Safety Awareness (training will be provided if required)
- Registered member in good standing with Skill Trades Ontario
- Ability to work at a steady pace while maintaining quality of service and installations
- Team player but comfortable working independently
- Must have a valid G Drivers License with a clean driver abstract
- Strong customer service and trouble shooting skills
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics and sequence of operations with regards to HVAC/R equipment
- Ability to diagnose, repair and maintain all HVAC/R related equipment
- Ability to prioritize and manage changing service requests
- Ability to adapt to recent technology
- English language proficiency (read/write/speak)
- Ability to use a ladder/stairs and lift 60+ lbs regularly
