We are currently seeking an autonomous, highly skilled, and detail-oriented Jumbo Roll Slitter Rewinder Machine Operator to join our founding production team in Mississauga.

Position Overview

As a Jumbo Roll Slitter Rewinder Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining high-speed slitting and rewinding machinery. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience handling various materials and possesses a deep technical understanding of machine variables. You will play a critical role in setting our production standards and ensuring that finished master rolls are converted to exact specifications with minimal waste.

Key Responsibilities

- Machine Operation & Setup: Safely set up and operate high-speed jumbo roll slitter rewinder machines according to job orders and technical specifications.
- Material Handling: Load (mount) and unload (unmount) large jumbo rolls safely using appropriate lifting equipment.
- Variable Adjustment: Actively monitor and adjust critical machine variables, including web tension control, blade alignment, speed, and nip pressure, to prevent defects like wrinkling, telescoping, or tearing.
- Tooling & Maintenance: Perform basic tooling adjustments, blade changes (razor, shear, or score), and routine machine calibration.
- Quality Control:



Conduct continuous visual inspections of materials during the run. Maintain a sharp attention to detail to ensure precise slit widths, clean edges, and accurate roll footage.
- Issue Reporting: Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and report any mechanical malfunctions, material defects, or potential production issues to management immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate daily production logs, tracking material usage, scrap rates, and job completion times.

Qualifications & Skills

- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience operating Jumbo Roll Slitter Rewinder machinery.
- Material Expertise: Strong experience working with multiple types of materials (e.g., paper, film, foils, laminates, or substrates).
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of mechanical slitting methods and the ability to calculate and adjust tension variables manually or via PLC/HMI screens.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Comfortable handling heavy master rolls using material handling equipment.
- Attributes: Highly responsible, adaptable (great for a new shop environment), safety-conscious, and possessing excellent attention to detail.
- Language: Proficient in English (written and verbal) for reading work orders and maintaining logs.
