Overview
Prodigy Personnel is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Night Shift Dispatcher for our client located in Puslinch ON. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity with the potential for long-term employment for the right candidate.
Please note that this Dispatcher role differs from a traditional transportation dispatcher position. This role focuses on coordinating warehouse operations, tracking inbound and outbound freight, and supporting the inbound team rather than managing drivers.
Night shift: Sunday to Thursday 11:00pm to 7:00am $27/hour + $0.75 shift premium for night shift.
Please note, this position is not accessible via public transportation, so candidates must have their own vehicle to travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordination of inbound shipments through Blue Yonder WMS
- Processing of all inbound and outbound paperwork
- Tracking of all inbound and outbound shipments through Microsoft Excel and WMS
- Inbound appointment booking for carriers via Microsoft Outlook and WMS
- Coordinate the movement of trailers through third party shunt software
- Coordinate the put away of received pallet in WMS Coordinate with inventory / QA team on US import inspection inbound shipments to ensure all documentation is compliant
- Email and phone communication with customer, carriers, suppliers, gatehouse guards and internal team
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or dispatch coordination role preferred.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); experience with Blue Yonder and Shunt Software
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Experience operating Reach Truck and Dock Stocker is considered a strong asset.
- A valid forklift license/certification is considered a strong asset.
- Experience working in a refrigerated warehouse or with food safety requirements is an asset but not required.
- Knowledge of international shipping documentation and CFIA requirements is an asset but not required.
- Ability to work independently on overnight shifts in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
