Specialist, Project Commercial Services (Contract Specialist)
Our client is looking for a Specialist, Project Commercial Services to join their team.
This position can be based remotely within Western Canada or from the Vancouver office. Candidates should be available to travel to the Vancouver office approximately once per month.
Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day procurement of services (e.g. Studies, Engineering, Consulting, and ad hoc site services)
- Support the Logistics Lead in preparing contract variations and establishing current agreements for transportation and warehousing services
- Support the Business Readiness Lead in preparing contract variations and establishing new agreements for equipment spares
- Develop package strategies aligned with project objectives for major service packages
- Prepare and issue tender documentation in accordance with project and package requirements
- Coordinate bid clarifications, evaluations, negotiations, and recommendations for award
- Prepare and finalize contract documentation including MSAs and standalone Service Agreements
- Prepare service orders under existing MSAs and establish new service agreements as required
- Support contract administration activities including contract variations, extensions, change management, and close-out
- Review invoices to ensure alignment with contractual rates and terms while supporting the payment process
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with contractors and service providers to support successful project delivery
- Identify opportunities to improve commercial outcomes, reduce costs through effective negotiations, and ensure procurement activities remain aligned with project schedule and budget
Requirements:
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience in procurement, contract administration, sourcing, or commercial management within major capital projects, mining, energy, or other heavy industrial environments
- Experience supporting contract amendments, change management, claims, and contract close-out
- Strong understanding of contract formation, commercial negotiations, and procurement processes
- Experience with Stage-Gate project execution methodologies
- Working knowledge of SAP, SAP Ariba, ERP systems, Aconex, or similar commercial systems
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build effective relationships across project teams, contractors, and suppliers
- Advanced negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
Pay: $56.00-$100.00 per hour
