Job Summary

North Style Unisex Salon is seeking a skilled, dependable, and customer-focused Barber to join our team in Whitehorse, Yukon. The successful candidate will provide professional barbering services while maintaining high standards of customer service, cleanliness, and workplace safety.

Duties

- Consult with clients to determine their hairstyle, beard grooming, and shaving preferences.
- Cut, trim, taper, fade, and style hair using scissors, clippers, razors, and other barbering tools.
- Shave and trim beards and moustaches, including hot towel and straight razor services where appropriate.
- Recommend hairstyles and grooming techniques that complement clients' preferences and facial features.
- Shampoo hair and perform scalp massage when required.
- Apply hair styling products and finish hairstyles using professional barbering techniques.
- Maintain and sanitize barber tools, equipment, chairs, and workstations in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Schedule appointments, greet clients, and maintain accurate client service records when required.
- Recommend and sell professional hair and beard care products.
- Keep up to date with current barbering trends, techniques, and products.
- Maintain a clean, organized,



and welcoming salon setting.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver excellent customer service.

Requirements

- Completion of secondary (high) school.
- 1 to less than 2 years of barbering experience.
- Proficiency in men's haircuts, fades, tapers, beard trimming, moustache grooming, and shaving.
- Skilled in using barbering tools, including clippers, scissors, razors, trimmers, and styling equipment.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Reliable, punctual, professional, and organized.
- Barber trade certification is an asset but is not required in Yukon.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Pay: $20.76 per hour
