Job Title: Production Supervisor
Job Summary: We are hiring a Production Supervisor for one of our manufacturing clients in Woodbridge! The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and optimizing daily production operations while ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery. This role plays a key part in developing the production team, improving processes, controlling costs, and supporting operational excellence to achieve customer satisfaction and long-term business success.
Job Type: Full-time, permanent. 100% on-site.
Job Location: Woodbridge, ON.
Shift Structure: Monday to Friday; Day Shift (with flexibility to rotate between days/afternoons in the future if the business requires it).
Compensation Structure: $68,000-$75,000 per year (depending on experience) + benefits + RRSP match
Responsibilities:
· Oversee daily production operations across the shop floor, including production, material handling, and logistics activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely execution of production schedules.
· Coordinate daily workflow, staffing, priorities, and production activities in collaboration with the Manager.
· Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and workplace standards to maintain a safe working environment.
· Monitor production performance metrics, including output, quality, efficiency, scrap, and downtime, and implement corrective actions when required.
· Lead, train, mentor, and certify new employees on workstations, processes, safety requirements, and quality expectations.
· Conduct regular employee follow-ups to support performance, competency development, and adherence to company standards.
· Ensure production teams follow established quality procedures, work instructions,
and customer requirements while supporting corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Identify and escalate production challenges related to equipment, materials, quality, or workflow, while supporting effective problem-solving efforts.
· Create employee schedules, assign daily tasks, monitor attendance, and ensure adequate production coverage.
· Coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, and Inventory teams to support material availability, purchasing requirements, and transportation needs.
· Work closely with the Inventory Specialist to maintain accurate inventory levels, identify shortages, and prevent production disruptions.
· Ensure all required materials, tools, and resources are available to support uninterrupted production.
· Maintain accurate production records, reports, and operational documentation.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing productivity, reducing waste, improving efficiency, and optimizing processes.
· Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, performance discussions, and employee development activities alongside HR and the Factory Manager.
· Address employee concerns, resolve workplace issues, and promote a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environment.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer requirements and achieve overall business objectives.
· Promote effective communication, teamwork, and accountability between production employees and management.
· Manage production-related costs within approved budgets, including labour, materials, and equipment usage, while supporting profitability goals.
· Provide accurate reporting and cost control insights to support operational and financial targets.
· Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of efficiency, organization, and productivity.
· Perform additional responsibilities as outlined in the employee agreement and assigned by the Manager.
Skills/Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical education.
· Minimum of 5 years of industry experience & 2 years of experience working in a supervisory role.
· Fluent written and spoken English required.
· Strong IT skills, including Microsoft 365, and understanding of production processes.
