The VinFast Canada Temporary HR Business Partner drives our culture and mission by partnering directly with people leaders and employees across our head office and showroom populations. In this role, you will align business objectives with people initiatives, providing both strategic guidance and practical execution across the full talent lifecycle. As a temporary HRBP, you will balance operational excellence with strategic partner support—managing complex employee relations, advising leaders on workforce planning and change management, and ensuring compliance with multi-provincial employment regulations. We are looking for an agile, proactive HR professional who can seamlessly step in, build trusted relationships, and deliver exceptional employee experiences in a quick-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Act as a strategic partner to business leaders, aligning organizational goals with tailored HR initiatives and people strategies across assigned client groups.
- Execute a holistic lifecycle approach to talent management, including workforce planning, onboarding, performance enablement, compensation reviews, and retention strategies.
- Provide daily coaching, guidance, and critical insights to people leaders on management practices, team effectiveness, and organizational design.
- Work closely with management and employees to build morale, boost productivity, enhance retention, and foster an inclusive workplace culture.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations matters, leading thorough intake, documentation, and resolution of workplace issues with diplomacy and discretion. Interpret and enforce company policies, legislative standards, and employment laws across Canada (specifically ensuring compliance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, Quebec Labor Standards, and British Columbia Employment Standards).
- Assist with Health and Safety compliance across operating provinces (ON, QC, BC).
- Leverage HR data analytics and salary benchmarking to identify trends related to performance, retention, and compensation,
recommending proactive solutions.
- Support key HR business cycles, including annual performance reviews, compensation planning, policy updates, and job evaluation architecture.
- Oversee core transactional processes (leaves of absence, employment documentation, HRIS updates) and collaborate with talent acquisition on high-impact showroom and corporate hires.
- Support cross-functional HR projects and other department initiatives as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPHR/CHRP designation (or equivalent provincial designation) or working toward it is strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 2+ years operating specifically as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Generalist.
- Experience supporting retail, hourly client groups, or fast-paced automotive dealership environments is strongly preferred.
- In-depth working knowledge of Canadian employment standards and labor legislation with multi-provincial experience (Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia).
- Ability to analyze organizational challenges, leverage data insights, and execute practical, business-driven HR solutions.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with proven ability to build trust, exercise high diplomacy, and influence leadership across all levels.
- Highly flexible, resilient, and adept at guiding teams through change within a rapid, dynamic growth environment.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word); practical experience with modern HRIS systems (e.g., Dayforce).
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is considered a strong asset.
