This position supports the delivery of our Out-of-School Care (OSC) program, serving children in grades K-5 in Oaklands and the Greater Victoria area. The OSC Activity Leader works collaboratively with the OSC team, which includes the OSC Program Manager, Sundance Site Supervisor, Room Leads, fellow Activity Leaders, and Inclusion Support staff. This position reports to the OSC Program Manager and is based in Victoria, BC.

The Role:

As the OSC Activity Leader, your main duties will include (but not be limited to):

● Overseeing the care of children in the program, including the conception and delivery of daily activities and parent contact/liaison

● Supervising and coordinating a program room in partnership with OSC team members and up to 30 children

● Preparing the room for service delivery, including craft and snack, and posting a daily activity summary for children and families to view

● Taking daily attendance, documenting behavioural challenges in communication logs, completing critical incident/accident reports, and maintaining medication forms as required

● Contributing to monthly activity calendars, and planning,



developing, and implementing crafts, games, and other activities

● Organizing children's transitions into and out of the program room, and to and from the OSC site and school grounds

● Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of program space and supplies

Key Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be at least 19 years of age and meet BC Child Care licensing requirements, including current first aid certification, a minimum of twenty hours of child-related coursework, a clean criminal record check, and up-to-date immunizations.

Your core skills should include strong leadership, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Compensation & Hours:

Compensation: $21.00/hour plus 4% in lieu of holiday pay. This position offers OCA discounts. Gross salary range: $8,000 - $23,100/school year.

Hours of Work: Contracted part-time position, Monday to Friday, September 2026 to June 2027, up to 27.5 hours per week, with longer shifts available during Pro-D Days and Winter or Spring Break Camps. Employment extension into Summer Camp is possible.
