Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Program Manager, AMH/ISL, this position supports the day-to-day operations of the Indigenous Support Line (ISL) and the 24/7/365 service delivery of the Addiction and Mental Health Helpline (AMH). Together, these provincial services provide accessible support for addiction, mental health, emotional wellness, system navigation, and connections to community resources. The Indigenous Support Line serves Indigenous Peoples across Treaty 6, Treaty 7, and Treaty 8 Territories, the Otipemisiwak Métis Government and the 8 Métis Settlements. ISL provides culturally safe, trauma-informed supportive listening, health system navigation, referrals to health, community, cultural, and spiritual support, and assistance with addiction, mental health, and patient concerns using strengths-based approaches.
Description:
This position develops and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Addiction & Mental Health programs, Indigenous services, Patient Relations, community organizations, and healthcare partners to support quality client care and service delivery. Key responsibilities include staff recruitment, performance management, coaching, clinical leadership, quality monitoring, partnership development, risk management, and continuous quality improvement. The incumbent contributes to the design, implementation, and evaluation of services and is accountable for achieving program goals in a dynamic healthcare environment while thoughtfully integrating Indigenous and Western perspectives to support culturally safe, person-centred care. In collaboration with the Program Manager,
the Clinical Manager provides direct supervision to a diverse team of regulated and non-regulated staff across multiple bargaining groups. This position is based in office at the Health Link 811 offices in Calgary, Alberta.

Required Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in Health, Business, Policy or Social Sciences; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Active registration for those eligible under the Health Professions Act. Experience working with Indigenous peoples in a variety of health settings. Strong understanding of cultural safety and anti-racist practices, knowledge of Indigenous histories, trauma-informed practice, and clinical skills. Extensive Addiction and Mental Health clinical expertise through experience in a variety of settings (e.g., acute, community, crisis), to provide full breadth of clinical support to staff. Experience managing unionized staff; understanding of collective agreements.
Knowledge of Addiction and Mental Health practice standards. Knowledge of Patient Relations concerns resolution processes. Minimum of 3-5 years demonstrated leadership experience. Experience in recruitment, training, coaching and performance management required. Solid technical skills are required and comfort using multiple electronic platforms.
Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3-5 years of direct clinical or leadership experience in working with Indigenous communities and/or organizations in a professional capacity. Ability to act as a change agent and deal with varied and diverse issues. Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to partner effectively with diverse groups and individuals. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and needs of various stakeholder and staff groups. Decision making based on a patient-centred approach to care.
Preferred Qualifications:
General understanding of urban and rural mental health resources, programs, and services. Previous contact centre experiences an asset. Ability to apply principles of Addiction and Mental Health assessment with principles of teletriage. Working knowledge of Federal and Provincial Health Agency systems, policies and processes, including grant administration. Demonstrated ability to lead and work collaboratively on a multi-disciplinary team.
