Signature Medical Centre is looking for a part-time / full-time Medical office assistant to work with a collegial, friendly, patient-centred clinic.

Qualifications and Experience

- MOA Certification is required
- Minimum 2 years experience working as an MOA (Medical Office Assistant)
- Robust knowledge of PS Suite EMR

Roles and Responsibilities

- Answering calls
- Booking/confirming appointments
- Preparing the room and the patient for the Doctor
- Requisitions and forms
- Strong typing skills
- Billing (including: submission, reconciliation, printing reports, and third party billing)
- Worker’s compensation board procedures
- Electronic funds transfer technology
- Filing systems
- Mail document sorting and detailing
- Making referral appointments
- Computer software programs and applications (billing systems and Microsoft Office programs)
- Ordering supplies




- Scanning test results
- Job Search/Resume
- Sanitation procedures and introduction to instruments (aseptic and sterile technique)
- Making bank deposits
- Phoning in patient’s prescriptions to drug stores
- Good understanding of medical terminology and abbreviations
- Discussing job interviews
- Assistance in minor surgery room
- Simple dressing change procedures
- First aid kit comprehensive coverage
- Ability to follow dress code
- Health Information Act/scanning
- Ability to discuss real-life scenarios that occur within the MOA field
