The cook is responsible for duties relating to the purchasing, preparation and serving of snacks and meals.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Duties will include but are not limited to the following…

Preparing snacks and lunch for infants, toddlers and Pre-K children.

Ability to cook meals and bake from scratch.

Must be able to make lunch accommodating dietary restrictions and allergies.

Has a large knowledge on kitchen preparation with first in, first out.

Ensuring the kitchen is kept clean and sanitary at all times, washing snack and lunch dishes, cups, cutlery, containers etc.

Setting up bins for snacks and lunch.

Maintaining proper temperatures of food and keeping a log.

Being flexible and open to change.

Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

Works with a positive attitude and as a team player.

Have the physical stamina and ability to kneel, bend, lift and stand for extended periods.

Weekly Grocery Shopping.

Ability to operate standard kitchen appliances.

Knowledge of Canada’s Food Guide

Help as ECA Required Skills and Abilities:

Time management, and organizational abilities.

No child care experience is needed. However, must have experience in cooking for kids/child care centres
