Job Overview

Le Québécois:
Le technicien de centre de données niveau 3 (L3) est un rôle avancé et très pratique qui supporte le déploiement et les opérations d’un environnement de centre de données haute performance à grande échelle, incluant des infrastructures complexes et du calcul avancé.

Ce poste s’adresse à des techniciens expérimentés à l’aise de prendre en charge des tâches complexes et d’agir comme principal point d’escalade technique sur le site. Tu joueras un rôle clé durant la phase de déploiement en contribuant à l’installation des équipements, au câblage structuré et à la mise en service de l’infrastructure. Une fois en opérations stables, tu assumeras davantage de responsabilités en troubleshooting, en gestion d’incidents et en exécution des opérations.

Tu travailleras à travers les environnements serveurs, réseau et infrastructure, en collaboration étroite avec les ingénieurs et l’équipe de gestion du site pour assurer la disponibilité et la performance. Ce rôle demande de solides compétences techniques, un bon souci du détail et la capacité de performer dans un environnement rapide et critique.

Ce poste s’exerce principalement en anglais, en raison des interactions quotidiennes avec des équipes techniques globales et de l’utilisation de documentation technique en anglais.

Ce rôle offre une exposition complète aux phases de déploiement et d’exploitation, avec de belles possibilités d’évolution vers des rôles techniques avancés ou d’ingénierie.

Responsabilités principales:
Effectuer le rack & stack, l’installation d’équipements et le câblage structuré pendant le déploiement

Supporter l’approvisionnement, la configuration et la validation des systèmes

Faire du troubleshooting sur l’infrastructure (Layer 1 à 3 : matériel, câblage, réseau)

Agir comme point de référence principal pour l’escalade de problèmes techniques complexes

Interagir avec les équipements réseau via CLI (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Dell)

Utiliser des systèmes Linux pour le troubleshooting et le support opérationnel

Maintenir un inventaire précis des équipements avec des outils ITSM/DCIM

Participer aux processus de gestion des changements (fenêtres de maintenance, mises en production)

Supporter la transition du déploiement vers les opérations régulières (documentation et processus)

Assurer le respect des normes de sécurité, sûreté et opérations

Contribuer à l’amélioration continue (optimisation des processus, efficacité opérationnelle)

Participer à une rotation de garde (on-call) pour un environnement 24/7

Compétences requises:
Maîtrise de l’anglais (oral et écrit)

Solide maîtrise des systèmes Linux pour le troubleshooting et les tâches de scripting de base

Capacité à configurer et dépanner des équipements réseau via CLI

Bonne compréhension du cycle de vie du matériel (installation, maintenance, retrait)

Expérience avec des processus structurés (SOP, gestion des changements, systèmes de billets)

Familiarité avec les plateformes ITSM/DCIM (ServiceNow, Jira ou équivalent)

Très bonnes compétences en gestion de câblage (fibre et cuivre)

Capacité à lire et suivre de la documentation technique, des diagrammes et des procédures

Excellentes aptitudes en résolution de problèmes et souci du détail

Capacité à gérer plusieurs tâches dans un environnement rapide

Bon esprit d’équipe avec capacité à travailler de façon autonome au besoin

Exigences physiques et opérationnelles:
Capacité de soulever jusqu’à 50 lb

À l’aise de travailler debout pendant de longues périodes

Capacité de répondre aux appels de garde dans des délais définis

Capacité de se déplacer de manière fiable vers le lieu de travail

Capacité d’utiliser de l’équipement de manutention (certification un atout)

Expérience requise:
4+ ans d’expérience en centre de données ou environnement technique similaire

Expérience démontrée en rack & stack, installation d’équipements et câblage structuré

Expérience en déploiement et redéploiement de systèmes (USB, PXE, réseau)

Expérience en initialisation (bootstrap) d’équipements réseau et configuration IP

Connaissance pratique de Linux et scripting de base (ex. : Bash, Ansible)

Expérience avec du matériel serveur d’entreprise (Dell, HPE, Supermicro ou équivalent)

Solide compréhension des bases en réseautique (DNS, DHCP, Layer 2/3)

Expérience avec des systèmes de billets (Jira un atout)

Connaissance des bonnes pratiques en centre de données (redondance, tolérance aux pannes, normes de câblage)

Connaissances de base en systèmes électriques, HVAC et infrastructure

Certifications (un atout):
CompTIA Server+, Network+ ou équivalent

English:
The Data Center Technician L3 is an advanced, hands-on role supporting the build-out and ongoing operation of a high-performance, enterprise-scale data center environment supporting advanced compute and large-scale infrastructure deployments.

This position is designed for experienced technicians who are comfortable owning complex tasks and serving as a primary technical escalation point within the site. You will play a key role during the initial deployment phase, contributing to hardware installation, structured cabling, and infrastructure bring-up. As the data center transitions into steady-state operations, you will take on increased responsibility for troubleshooting, incident response, and operational execution.

You will work across server, network, and infrastructure domains, collaborating closely with engineers and site leadership to maintain uptime and performance. This role requires strong technical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, making transparent and professional communication in English (written and verbal) essential for success in this role.

This role offers continuity across both deployment and operational phases, providing exposure to large-scale infrastructure environments and a clear path for progression into advanced technical or engineering roles.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform rack & stack, hardware installation, and structured cabling during deployment phase

Support system provisioning, configuration, and validation activities

Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across Layer 1–3 (hardware, cabling,



and network)

Serve as a primary technical escalation point for complex operational issues

Interface with network devices via CLI (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Dell)

Utilize Linux systems for troubleshooting and operational support

Maintain accurate asset and inventory records using ITSM/DCIM tools

Participate in change management, including maintenance windows and production changes

Support transition from deployment to steady-state operations, including documentation and process adherence

Ensure compliance with safety, security, and operational standards

Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including process optimization and operational efficiency initiatives

Participate in on-call rotation supporting 24x7 operations

Required Skills:
Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) are required for coordination with cross-functional teams

Advanced hands-on experience with data center hardware, cabling, and infrastructure environments

Proficiency with Linux systems for troubleshooting and basic scripting tasks

Ability to configure and troubleshoot network hardware using CLI tools

Strong understanding of hardware lifecycle management (installation, maintenance, decommissioning)

Experience working within structured operational processes (SOPs, change management, ticketing systems)

Familiarity with ITSM/DCIM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira, or similar)

Solid cable management and structured cabling skills (fiber and copper)

Ability to read and follow technical documentation, diagrams, and procedures

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently when needed

Physical & Operational Requirements:
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs

Comfortable working on feet for extended periods

Ability to respond to on-call incidents within defined timelines

Ability to reliably commute to the work location

Ability to operate material handling equipment (certification preferred)

Required Experience:
4+ years of experience in data center operations or similar technical environments

Proven experience with rack & stack, hardware installation, and structured cabling

Experience provisioning and re-provisioning systems (USB, PXE, or network-based methods)

Experience bootstrapping network devices and configuring IP addressing

Working knowledge of Linux systems and basic scripting (e.g., Bash, Ansible)

Experience supporting enterprise server hardware (Dell, HPE, Supermicro, or similar)

Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, Layer 2/3 concepts)

Experience working within ticketing systems (Jira preferred)

Knowledge of data center best practices (redundancy, fault tolerance, cabling standards)

Basic understanding of electrical, HVAC, and infrastructure systems

Preferred Certifications:
CompTIA Server+, Network+, or equivalent

ITIL Foundation

CCNA or similar networking certification
