Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented QC Associate to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will split your time between production floor inspections, laboratory physical testing, and critical documentation management. You will play a vital role in ensuring that all manufacturing processes, batch records, and inventory controls meet strict regulatory and quality standards.
This position reports directly to the Quality Assurance (QA) Department.
Hours of Work
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
Floor & Production Oversight
- Perform routine, random quality checks on active production lines to ensure strict compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Verify and document daily equipment balances and scales prior to manufacturing operations.
- Monitor manufacturing environments and processes to identify and report discrepancies immediately.
Physical Testing, Sampling & Quarantine
- Conduct routine physical testing, including disintegration testing and other required bench-top product evaluations.
- Collect, label, and manage physical samples from production lines for laboratory submission, testing, or archiving.
- Manage the physical tagging, movement, system tracking, and segregation of materials and products placed into quarantine.
Documentation & Batch Record Management
- Perform rigorous, timely reviews, audits,
and follow-ups on batch production records (BPRs) to ensure complete data integrity and compliance.
- Assist in organizing, filing, and maintaining audit-ready quality documentation and logbooks.
- Support the QA/QC team with general administrative compliance tasks.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or a related scientific discipline (preferred), or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in a QC/QA role within a regulated manufacturing environment (such as Natural Health Products, Pharmaceuticals, Food, or Dietary Supplements).
- Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, particularly with batch record review and documentation accuracy. Strong foundational math and analytical skills for balance verifications and testing. Valuable communication skills for bridging production floors and the QA department. Ability to work effectively both independently on the floor and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and walk on the manufacturing floor for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting and handling of material samples and testing equipment.
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
