Trade Tech Industries is in Port Hope. We provide custom metal fabrication solutions for our customers and we are looking to add a fitter-welder to our team!
1. Duties and Obligations
1. Fit and weld assemblies of varying complication.
2. Monitor progress, quality, and timing, making necessary adjustments to meet and exceed production targets.
3. Promote safe material handling and a safe working environment.
4. Create and use jigs to increase efficiency and quality.
5. Begin with the end in mind. Prepare, simplify and sub-itemize assemblies to our team up for success down the line.
6. Ability to work with various types of materials and fabrication types.
7. Hone expertise working both independently and as part of a fabrication team.
8. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly duties as required.
9. Review work orders to ensure all relevant information and materials have been provided, bring attention to missing information or incorrect details.
10. Set up work orders and workstations for success.
11. Identify and resolve issues or defects in assemblies and fabrication drawings.
12. Provide insights and recommendations to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
13.
Assist Q/C team as required.
14. Promote a positive culture.
15. Adhere to all safety regulations and assist with inspections as required.
16. Lead by example, wear all required PPE and adhere to company policies.
2. Requirements
a) Fitters will have experience in metals fabrications and construction.
b) 2+ years’ experience as a fitter.
c) Intricate knowledge in reading, interpreting, and understanding blueprints.
d) Effective written and verbal skills.
e) Robust teamwork skills.
f) Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.
g) Relevant certification including WHIMIS, H&S; 4 steps, and CWB.
3. Safety
Employees are required to follow all safety rules and regulations. This includes wearing work boots and safety glasses at all times in the shop. Smoking is prohibited in the shop and must be done in designated areas.
