Operational Qualified – Compost Facility

Compost Site Loader Operator- Full Time, Permanent

Position Summary:

We are currently looking for a skilled machine operator to operate various pieces of heavy equipment including loaders, screeners, grinders, skid steers and various other pieces of machinery. The Compost Site Operator will report to the General Manager - Operations and is responsible for safe and efficient operation of the facility and deliveries from our clients. The Loader Operator position will be responsible and accountable for all materials that can and cannot be accepted at the facility, maintain and operate a safe, clean and friendly work environment for both internal and external clients.

The facility is located proximate to Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. Applicant will need their own transportation to work.

Responsibilities:

- Work Safely
- Know, understand, and follow the Standard Operating Procedures of the company. From time to time,



you will also help develop and make changes to the current Standard Operating procedures for the facility.
- Understand the regulatory and operating approvals as they pertain to our facility including materials that can and cannot be accepted at the facility.
- Build and move composting windrows.
- Communicate with the customer as necessary and maintain good client relations.
- Operate and maintain the facility equipment as per SOP’s and maintenance schedule
- Possess the ability to issue Safe Work Permits as required for 3rd party contractors.
- Hazard ID and Incident identification and reporting
- Know, understand, and follow our Operations Management System which encapsulates health, safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements.

Qualifications

- Class 5 Driver License
- Class 1 Driver License is an asset
- First aid training is an asset
- Qualified to operate heavy equipment
- Mechanically inclined (welding experience a plus)

Compensation:

Compensation is competitive and will be based on qualifications.

The candidate will have onsite training and will be required to complete a certified composting course for the position within 2 years of starting.
