We are seeking a passionate and energetic Day Home Coordinator to lead and support our Day Homes. In this vital role, you will oversee the daily operations of home-based childcare environments, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging space for children to learn and grow. Your leadership will foster positive relationships with families, caregivers, and community partners while maintaining compliance with licensing standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families through dedicated caregiving and early childhood education.
Responsibilities
- Support and supervise caregivers to deliver high-quality early childhood education and care
- Complete monthly home visits and safety inspections
- Maintain accurate records of all visits and interactions with day home providers and families
- Provide monthly planning with the day home providers
- Communicate regularly with families as needed and address any concerns
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, safety protocols, and program policies
- Facilitate ongoing training and professional development opportunities for caregivers to enhance their skills
- Provide support to set up back up care when provider is not available and have the ability to step in and support in an emergency situation
- hours vary between 10-20 a month based on the need. These hours are shared between monthly inspections, home visits, administration, support in setting up new day homes and providing support in emergency situations. Availabillity during the day is required.
Experience
- Solid background in caregiving within a childcare or early education environment
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, developmental milestones, and caregiving best practices
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and support caregiving teams in a collaborative manner
- Experience with leadership and supervision
Qualifications
- ECE Certification Level 2 minimum
- Valid First Aid CPR Level C
- Current Police with vulnerable sector check
