St. Joseph’s Villa Dundas is currently seeking part time Personal Support Workers to join our growing and dynamic team!

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform all duties in accordance with the Mission Statement, Organizational, Philosophy and administrative policies and standards of St. Joseph’s Villa.

- Provides or assists the resident with all aspects of ADLs as per their individualized plan of care
- Ambulates,



mobilizes and transfers residents according to care plan.
- Reports observations and findings to the Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse for follow up and documentation purposes.
- Member of the interdisciplinary team and participates in resident reviews as needed.
- Assists in the maintenance of a clean and protected environment.
- Provides cognitive, social and emotional support to residents.
- Completes and signs all applicable documentation of resident care (ex. flow sheets, food/fluid intake, behaviour records etc) each shift.
- Is responsible for personal health and safety while in the workplace.
- Participates in educational activities, in-service education and shares responsibility for maintaining and improving knowledge and skills in the care of the elderly.
- Completes annual and mandatory education as per policy
- Assists with orientation of current staff and students.
- Is familiar with emergency procedures and WHIMIS programs
- Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement activities in Nursing, Villa activities
- Exemplifies great customer service skills and maintains a respectful and professional rapport with all family/staff/residents.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.




- When your assigned tasks are completed, ensure resident care, connection and engagement remains a continuous priority and provide social, emotional and physical support.

FORMAL EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Personal Support Worker Diploma/Certificate is required
- Experience in long-term care facility or Personal Support Worker program, which included a supervised clinical component similar to that offered by Mohawk College is required
