Responsibilities
- Open, organize, and maintain electronic client files.
- Prepare client invoices and assist with billing and accounts receivable.
- Draft routine correspondence and legal documents from precedents.
- Maintain calendars and monitor key dates and deadlines.
- Schedule meetings, client appointments, mediations, discoveries, and court appearances.
- Prepare and assemble documents for filing and service.
- File documents with the courts using electronic filing systems where applicable.
- Communicate professionally with clients, lawyers, court registries, and other third parties.
- Answer telephone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct communications appropriately.
- Maintain accurate file records and ensure documents are properly organized.
- Assist with conflict checks, file closing, and archiving.
- Provide general administrative support to lawyers and the litigation team as required.
Skills
- Previous experience in a legal office, preferably in litigation.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software.
- Professional, dependable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
