Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our team for the months of August and September 2026.

The ideal candidate will assist in various kitchen tasks in a childcare facility, ensuring a smooth and efficient food service process. This role is essential for independently maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety while supporting the daycare staff in delivering exceptional meals.

Responsibilities

- Assist in minor food service preparation, including taking temperatures, plating meals, keeping track of the number of children, and allergies.
- Help with cleaning and organization of food service and snack room either independently or under the supervision of the head chef.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
- Support meal preparation by assembling meals and ensuring they are ready for service.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is handled and stored properly.
- Collaborate with daycare staff to ensure timely delivery of meals and maintain a positive work environment.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in a daycare, restaurant, or food service setting is preferred but not required.




- Familiarity with food handling and safety practices is essential - a safe Food Handler Certification is required
- Basic cooking skills and knowledge of meal preparation techniques are advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Ability to excel independently and as part of a team
- A positive attitude towards collaboration in the daycare.
- Familiarity with technology for record keeping
