We’re looking for a hands-on Building Maintenance Technician to look after our restaurants in Whistler. This is a role with varying work load for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and can keep busy food venues running smoothly.
The role
You’ll be responsible for day-to-day maintenance and repairs across 5 food & Drink venues, workload includes but is not limited to:
- General repairs – doors, locks, windows, basic carpentry, painting, minor plastering/patching
- Basic plumbing – unblocking drains, fixing small leaks, replacing taps/toilets, etc.
- Basic electrical – replacing light fittings and bulbs, simple troubleshooting within legal limits
- HVAC/boiler/plant – routine checks and basic maintenance
- Grounds – snow and ice clearing, paths, basic outdoor upkeep and litter picking
- Routine inspections – safety and compliance checks, identifying and reporting issues
- Coordinating contractors – meeting and supervising external trades as needed
- Emergency response – attending urgent breakdowns and call-outs when required
- Event support – set up and pack down of furniture/equipment for functions
You’ll work closely with the General Manager and venue managers to prioritise tasks and minimise disruption to operations.
What we’re looking for
Experience & skills
- At least 1 years experience in building or facilities maintenance
- Carpentry background is an advantage
- Comfortable with basic plumbing and electrical tasks
- Able to use email and basic computer tools
- Valid BC driving license.

Physical & availability requirements
- Able to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials

- Standard pattern: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (with flexibility when needed)
- Willing to respond to occasional emergency call-outs and work overtime when required
Pay & benefits
$25 - $30 per hour (depending on experience)
