Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
This is a PART-TIME/FULL-TIME position to start, working Wednesday/Thursday's/Friday's. Eventually being a fulltime position working Tuesday - Friday. Hours of the clinic are 8-5, no evenings and no weekends.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for dental procedures
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information in dental software CLEARDENT
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
- Manage patient flow within the office
- Help sterilize instruments and maintain a clean working environment
- Collaborate with orthodontics, pediatrics, and other specialists as required
- Go to UBC for Study Club once a month with the dentist.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, confident in skill set is preferred.
- Proficiency in using CLEARDENT
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry is beneficial
- Experience in a dental receptionist role is an advantage but not mandatory
- Experience with TRIOS Scanner
- Experience with making single unit temporary crowns
- Experience with Rubber Dam Isolation
