Job Title: Structural Steel Project Manager/Estimator

Job Summary: We are hiring a Structural Steel Project Manager for our client in the steel construction industry! This position offers a blend of project management, estimating, procurement, and site coordination responsibilities, supporting structural steel fabrication and installation projects from start to finish. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, including production, drafting, and fabrication, while also spending time on project sites to ensure work is progressing efficiently.

Job Type: Full-time, permanent.

Job Location: Georgetown, ON

Shift Structure: 8:30am to 5:30pm with an hour lunch (flexible on times)

Compensation Structure: $70,000-$100,000 per annum (depending on experience) + benefits + bonus

Responsibilities:

· Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel projects using drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

· Review architectural, structural, and engineering drawings to determine project scope, material quantities, and labour requirements.

· Assist in the preparation of quotations, bid packages, proposals, and detailed cost breakdowns.

· Maintain accurate estimating records, documentation, and project databases.

· Manage structural steel projects from award through completion, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality standards are achieved.





· Coordinate project activities with clients, general contractors, engineers, installation crews, and internal departments.

· Monitor project progress, track changes, and ensure key milestones and deliverables are completed on schedule.

· Prepare and maintain project schedules, reports, documentation, and related records.

· Visit job sites to complete field measurements, verify site conditions, and monitor project progress.

· Work closely with installation crews to support efficient project sequencing and successful field execution.

· Identify site conditions or potential issues that may affect fabrication, installation, or project timelines.

· Source and procure materials, subcontracted services, and equipment as required for project completion.

· Monitor project costs and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities.

· Collaborate with the production office and fabrication team to ensure materials are available and production schedules are maintained.

· Communicate effectively with drafting, detailing, production, and shop teams to support project success.

· Coordinate activities between fabrication and field installation to ensure smooth project execution.

· Participate in project planning meetings and provide regular updates on project status and progress.

· Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, suppliers,



subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the successful delivery of structural steel projects.

· Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the business.

Skills/Qualifications:

· College diploma or university degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

· Previous experience in structural steel estimating, project management, or field measurements is considered an asset but is not required.

· Recent graduates with a strong interest in developing a career in the structural steel and construction industry are encouraged to apply.

· Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.

· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings; training will be provided for junior candidates.

· Willingness to travel to job sites to perform field measurements and support project activities.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong attention to detail with effective problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Experience with structural steel fabrication processes, erection sequencing, or construction site operations is considered an asset.

· Familiarity with industry software such as AutoCAD, Tekla, or estimating software is considered an asset.

· Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to support successful project execution.
