Position: Security Guard
Reports to: Security Manager
PURPOSE
The Security Guard is critical to the success of Casino Dene. The Security Guard will be responsible for all aspects relating to the safety and security of our patrons, employees, and Casino Dene property.
ROLE
The primary role of this position is to ensure the security standards and ensure that policy and procedures are maintained. The Security Guard will demonstrate leadership and a qualified image to all guests, employees, local community representatives, vendors and governing agencies while maintaining employer standards for asset protection.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivering excellence in customer service
- Responsible for ensuring that the Casino property is secure and safe for all patrons and staff
- Enforce AGLC liquor laws and/or age restrictions
- Patrols the casino to ensure the security of doors and premises
- Monitor and authorize the entrance and departure of employees and patrons
- Call the RCMP or fire department in cases of emergency, such as fire or the presence of unauthorized persons or in the event of a robbery
- Answer telephone calls and redirect or take messages
- Monitor for infractions of rules and regulations, criminal activity
- Creates accurate records of any incident that occurs while on their shift
- Assist other casino departments with chip runs. TRK refills, bussing of bottles, taking garbage to outside bins and other light maintenance duties as required
- Assist in the set-up and tear-down of in-house banquets/meetings and/or events booked
- Provide security for various draws/specials throughout the year
- Take direction from MOD when called upon
- Assisting and communicating with partners to complete tasks
- Maintaining access control over the property both during operation and non-operation
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
This position requires the ability to communicate clearly, deal tactfully and work effectively with Casino Dene management, staff, and patrons. The incumbent in this position will primarily work with security guards and management.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Security Guards' schedules would require working some late nights, weekends, and holidays. Casino Dene is a smoking facility; all employees are required to be able to work in a smoking environment.
