Job Description- Full time Kitchen Assistant/Classroom Assistant

SimplySmart Child Care Centre & Montessori is looking for a mature person to work in the Kitchen Assistant/staff role at their Oakville location to help serve meals and cover lunches. We are a childcare facility focused on a clean and safe setting for the children. The individual would be required to serve lunch and snacks for breakfast & afternoon.

The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for the following:

- Helping prepare breakfast & snacks and covering lunches in the classroom
- Serving catered lunches
- Following the allergy list fr each classroom and serving the appropraite meals
- Serving all meals on on time based on the schedule provided
- Cleaning-up the kitchen and meals & utensils
- Ensuring Allergy and restriction requirements are met




- Keeping accurate records as per Health & Ministry of Education
- Make a shopping list for snacks & breakfast
- Helping with the classroom when required & covering the teachers when required
- Removing trash from the facility
- Monthly duties include cleaning the inside of the oven and the microwave.
- Wiping down the inside of the refrigerator & Freezer & cleaning behind the dishwashers

We are looking for someone who wants a consistent job with consistent hours and has:

- the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- a food handling certificate
- up to date Immunizations based on childcare regulations & TB test based on Ministry of Education requirements for childcare
- a Criminal reference check based on Ministry of Education requirements for childcare
- Experience working in a kitchen
- Experience working with multiple allergies
- able to carry upto 40 pounds
- stand for extended periods of time

Salary is $19.20/hour -$21.00/hour
