Wastecorp Pumps is an OEM manufacturer of pumps and pump systems for various water and wastewater industries. Wastecorp Pumps is an E-T-O (engineered-to-order) manufacturer and we are currently seeking to expand our engineering design team.

This is a full-time position and requires proficiency in Solidworks and AutoCad.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Prepare drawing packages from initial concept stage through the "release" for production stage including welding and assembly drawings
- Ensuring accurate/physical dimensions of parts and materials to be used, verifying tolerances of each assembly part to one another within the equipment system.
- Modify drawings and BOMs by analyzing, resolving conflicts and make necessary drawing design changes for "As Built" assemblies/schematics
- Remake/update old drawings to match current production designs by taking physical measurements and reviewing with production/engineering team
- Ensure drawing and material changes are properly noted and reflected on drawings
- Create Step files, dimensional drawings and renderings for customer orders,
- Create 3D models with fully defined sketches, produce parts and assembly drawings.
- Assist Project Manager in establishing production files, including sourcing materials, extrapolating BOM items from Solidworks exploded view schematics into Excel, and subsequently setting up BOMs in ERP system
- Verify all components of the BOM are accurate prior to releasing to purchasing department
- Review BOMs for inventory evaluation prior to releasing to production department. Review project work thoroughly to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with company and industry standards, OSHA, HI, etc.
- Liase with suppliers including machine shops,



power transmission suppliers, etc.,
- Ensure drawing and material changes are properly noted and reflected on drawings
- Collaborate with engineering, project and production teams to verify dimensions, materials and any directions on design for fabrication to achieve project objectives
- Identify and resolve project challenges through sound technical judgement and problem-solving
- Utilize Product Data Management (PDM) systems to manage engineering documentation and revisions.
- Coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously, including custom ETO projects
- Prioritize workload effectively to meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Education and Experience Requirements:

- Diploma/Degree/certificate in Mechanical Drafting Technology/Engineering or equivalent.
- 2+ years experience in designing industrial equipment preferred
- Proficiency in Solidworks Skilled, 3D modeling, 2D AutoCad, etc.
- 1 year of manufacturing/industry experience is preferred, but not a prerequisite.
- Can read and understand machining and welding drawings
- Ability to manage multiple design projects at the same time
- Motivated about working with team members, customers and collaborating on overcoming design challenges
- Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written English language
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Understanding of Solidworks PDM, Visualize and Simulation systems an asset
