Position Type: Part time leading to Full-Time

Working Day: 7:30 AM-5:00 PM Monday-Friday. Hours may stagger. Includes a 30-minute paid lunch break.

Language Requirement: English

Education: High School diploma or equivalent. First Aid & WHMIS.

Skills: Basic computer skills: Internet, email, basic spreadsheets/word processing is required. Knowledge of automotive hardware and diagnostic/repair procedures is required. Knowledge of basic bookkeeping software is desirable but not required. Additional training/specialization is an asset.

Job Description: The Service Advisor coordinates with the Manager/Primary SA on the front desk.

- Serve as point of contact for Automotive Technicians on the floor regarding jobs in progress (i.e. diagnostic or repair questions)
- Assist Techs on jobs as needed (e.g. research/vehicle specs)
- Road test vehicles with or without Techs and/or clients
- Serve as OH&S; representative.




- Serve as point of contact for clients for the duration of service
- Answer phones/greet clients; book appointments
- Obtain and record client contact info, vehicle details and in-depth report of vehicle issues
- Prepare and communicate parts/labour quotes for clients as needed
- Communicate w/clients during the job (updates, permission to order additional parts or perform unexpected service, etc.)
- Finalize invoices and communicate w/clients re: next steps (if required), payment, and vehicle pick-up
- Create work orders for Techs; assign jobs
- Order parts for Techs as required
- Record diagnostic results, inspection/repair details, recommendations, etc. from Techs
- Keep inventory stock and order supplies as needed
- Communicate/maintain ongoing relationships with tool/part suppliers
- Maintain clean and inviting client space (light cleaning – bathrooms and floors; keep workstation tidy)
- Take payments from clients and keep track of charge accounts, make change with cash or use credit/debit machine.
- Keep a balanced appointment book, creating a schedule that is neither over- nor under-booked
- Client transportation as required
- Retrieve parts from suppliers as required

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
