Job Summary

Riverside Concrete Forming Ltd. is a progressive concrete forming company based out of London Ontario with projects across Southwestern Ontario. Since our establishment in 2017, we have experienced significant growth, creating the opportunity for the addition of a Payroll Administrator to join our team!

Reporting to the Controller, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for all payroll administration, accounts payable. The position also provides administrative support to the Controller.

Responsibilities

- Payroll (80%)

Process weekly payroll: ensure accuracy of payroll documents received, calculate termination and statutory payments, complete weekly payroll entries, and generate payroll summary, as well as electronic payments and/or paychecks and related reports.

Record and generate checks or online payment for all Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), Employer Health Tax (EHT), and CRA source deductions as required.

Complete and issue annual T4 slips on an annual basis.

Complete Records of Employment on an ongoing basis.

Create payroll reports as requested.

Reconcile payments and prepare Employer Health Tax (EHT) and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) annual return.

Union dues remittance and reporting.

Accrue payroll at year-end.

Complete monthly reconciliation and accounting for all bank, credit card and term deposit accounts.

Maintain and update fixed assets database.





Support the Controller in month-end and year-end financial closing activities and reporting requirements as requested.

- Other Duties (20%):

Actively participate in all mandated trainings, meetings, and workshops.

Ensure appropriate and confidential handling of all department information and files

Assist with annual financial audit and funder audits as requested

Accept other duties as assigned and support special projects assigned by the Controller

Qualifications

Payroll certificate preferred or equivalent experienced.

Minimum of three years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, processing account payables and receivables, financial documentation, and internal reporting.

High level of proficiency in payroll management, principles, and practices.

Ability to stay current with all regulations, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements and trends related to financial management.

Experience with Jonas is considered an asset.

High level of proficiency in MS Office.

Strong data entry skills with high accuracy.

Ability to prepare standard reports and forms.

Ability to do complex work that requires strong attention to detail in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment.

Ability to communicate effectively, both in written and verbal formats, and when interacting with both individuals and groups.

Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.

Experience working in a Unionized environment.
