Job Summary

TACNIC Security Services is seeking qualified and observant Loss Prevention Guards to join our growing team. In this role, you'll work closely with retail clients to reduce theft, protect assets, and create a safe shopping environment through proactive surveillance and professional customer service.

Successful candidates will have excellent observation skills, strong communication abilities, and the confidence to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct undercover (plainclothes) and uniformed loss prevention duties.
- Monitor customers and employees for theft, fraud, or suspicious activity.
- Observe and document incidents accurately.
- Recover stolen merchandise in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
- Prepare detailed incident reports.
- Work closely with store management and law enforcement when required.
- Monitor CCTV systems and surveillance equipment.
- Assist in identifying operational risks and security vulnerabilities.
- Promote a safe environment for customers and employees.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications

- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (Required)
- Excellent observational and communication skills.
- Ability to write explicit and accurate reports.
- Robust conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.




- Ability to work independently.
- Previous retail, security, or loss prevention experience is an asset.
- CCTV experience is considered an asset.
- Reliable transportation is preferred.

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada.
- Understanding of citizen's arrest authorities.
- Experience with retail investigations.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
