Dog Walker / Pet Care Team Member

About bwd Petcare

Since 2012, bwd Petcare has provided professional dog walking services for Ottawa pet owners. As a locally-owned, women-owned-and-led business, we focus on safe, structured walks that provide both exercise and enrichment while giving clients dependable, professional care for their pets.

What You’ll Do

As a member of our walking team, your day will involve visiting clients throughout Ottawa and providing individualized care for their dogs. Responsibilities include:

- Leading structured on-leash walks
- Following each client’s care instructions
- Monitoring dog behaviour and maintaining safe handling practices
- Providing food, water, or other requested pet care when required
- Completing visit reports through our mobile app
- Travelling between client appointments
- Working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions

Travel time between scheduled client visits is paid as part of your workday, from your first appointment until your final visit (excluding the time for one's unpaid lunch break(s), when necessary/required).

We’re Looking For Someone Who

- Lives within Ottawa
- Is available Monday through Friday, approximately 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Has occasional evening or weekend availability (an asset)
- Holds a valid G2 or G driver’s licence




- Has access to a dependable vehicle/mode of transportation
- Is comfortable using a smartphone for scheduling, navigation, and visit reports
- Enjoys walking and can comfortably cover long distances throughout the day
- Can occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Communicates professionally with clients and teammates
- Can provide a criminal record check (cost reimbursed after successful completion of probation)
- Is dependable, punctual, and willing to learn

Professional pet care experience is welcome but not required. Comprehensive training is provided.

Position: Part time Dog Walker

Location: Client homes throughout Ottawa

Dress Code: Casual, weather-appropriate clothing suitable for outdoor work
