· Must be professional 'team players' with a good command of the English language who have their food preparation and food handling certificates

· Process their Proton Certificate

· Experience and sensitivity in dealing with members of different cultural and racial backgrounds, including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity

· Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills

· Ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Up to date standard First Aid, CPR (Level C) certification and immunization record

· Flexibility regarding assigned working hours, early morning and mid-late afternoons, and evenings

· A capacity to work within a team and excellent leadership skills and ability

· Ability to use frequent medium to heavy physical effort: lifting up to 22 kg (50 lbs.), bending and stooping

· Must be able to work in an environment where you may be exposed to heat, humidity or cold

· Strong budgetary skills for placing and managing food orders

· The potential candidate must also be dependable, flexible and committed to providing quality meals for a large number of children (150+) in a busy daycare environment

- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and food safety standards
- Ensure food is cooked and served in a timely manner
- Assist with meal planning and menu development
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area
- Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed




- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations

- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
