Position Description

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Technician / Commercial Transport Mechanic to join our team in Blackfalds, Alberta. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our diverse fleet of commercial trucks, trailers, pumps, generators, compressors, and specialized water transfer equipment. Working closely with the Shop Foreman, you will play a key role in ensuring our fleet remains safe, reliable, and compliant while minimizing equipment downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial tractor units, trailers, and a variety of heavy equipment.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of pumps, compressors, generators, heating equipment, and other specialized assets.
- Complete pre-service, post-service, and annual inspections, including Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) inspections where qualified.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Accurately document inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Work with the Shop Foreman to prioritize repairs and maintain fleet readiness.




- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company Safe Work Practices, manufacturer specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Enrolled in or completed a Heavy Duty Mechanic apprenticeship program (preferred).
- Experience in mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Welding experience is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CVIP License or ability to obtain one is an asset

Job Requirements

- Heavy Duty Technician / Commercial Transport Mechanic (Red Seal Preferred)
- CVIP license, or ability to obtain is an asset
- Experience working on commercial trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work reliably with minimal supervision.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract.
- Possession of basic service tools required for the trade.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
