Facilities Maintenance Technician (Full-Time)

Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift | On-call as required

Job Summary

138 Student Living is seeking a reliable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support preventive maintenance and day-to-day repairs across student residences and common areas. This role ensures facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained while providing timely, high-quality service to residents and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Complete maintenance work orders efficiently and to standard (plumbing, basic electrical, patching/painting, doors/locks, fixtures, minor carpentry, general repairs)

- Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend asset life

- Identify safety hazards, report deficiencies, and take corrective action or escalate as needed

- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and parts/materials usage

- Coordinate with approved contractors and vendors when specialized support is required

- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety procedures





- Provide after-hours and on-call support as assigned

Qualifications / Requirements

- Hands-on building or facilities maintenance experience

- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and general repair practices

- Safety-focused mindset with attention to detail and quality

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks/priorities

- Clear communication skills for working with residents, operations staff, and vendors

- Experience in student housing, residential buildings, hotels, or campus environments is an asset
