The Foothills Advocacy in Motion (FAIM) Society is seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to provide respite support for adults with developmental disabilities in the Okotoks area.

As a Respite Care Provider, you will offer temporary support that allows primary caregivers to take a well-deserved break while ensuring individuals continue to receive quality care in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.

FAIM is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting adults with developmental disabilities to live meaningful, self-directed lives within their communities. Through our Home Living Program, we partner with caring individuals who are committed to enriching the lives of those we support.

About the Opportunity

As a Respite Care Provider, you may provide:

- Hourly in-home support.
- Evening or overnight care.
- Weekend respite (up to 48 hours).
- Assistance with daily living activities.
- Community outings and recreational activities.
- Support that promotes independence, inclusion, dignity, and choice.

Schedules vary based on the needs of the individuals receiving support and may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and overnight stays.

Qualifications

Successful Respite Care Providers will have:

- A caring, patient, and compassionate nature.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- A valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
- The ability to obtain a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.




- A willingness to complete all mandatory training provided by FAIM.

Previous experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is considered an asset but is not required. We welcome individuals who are passionate about helping others and committed to providing quality supports.

Compensation

Respite Care Providers are engaged as independent contractors.

Compensation varies depending on the support needs of the individual. Current rates include:

- Hourly respite: Starting at $18.00 per hour
- Weekend respite (up to 48 hours): Up to $330.00 per weekend
