Responsibilities:

- Deliver safe, recreational programming for children and youth by providing instruction in the rules, regulations, equipment, strategies and techniques of Basketball
- Explain and ensure safety rules and regulations, and ensure participants follow all program rules.
- Adhere to policies and procedures established by VHNA (Victoria Hills Neighbourhood association) and VHCC (Victoria Hills Community Centre).
- Ensure secure use, condition and storage of equipment.
- Respond to participants’ immediate concerns and/or needs.
- Act as a liaison between the community centre, neighbourhood association and participants.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Experience/Skills:

- Experience working with children and youth aged 4-17
- Minimum one year of experience coaching basketball

Other Requirements:

- Vulnerable Sector Screening required
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification would be an asset.
- Availability to fulfill three contract periods - Program runs from September to December, January to April, April to June

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $20.50 per hour
