Job Title: Materials Expeditor
Location: Edmonton, AB
Schedule: Full-Time
Our client is seeking a Materials Expeditor to support supply chain and project delivery activities by coordinating, expediting, and tracking equipment, materials, vendor documentation, and stakeholder communications to ensure project milestones are achieved on schedule.
What's the Job?
- Expedite and track assigned equipment and materials to ensure on-time readiness and delivery in accordance with project and construction schedules.
- Coordinate vendor documentation and facilitate timely review and approval with engineering, project teams, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor fabrication schedules, inspection and test plans, inspection reports, and purchase order data to identify and mitigate potential delays.
- Communicate potential or actual delays to stakeholders and work collaboratively with suppliers to resolve issues.
- Schedule, facilitate, document, and manage vendor supply meetings and participate in project meetings as required.
- Prepare and distribute status reports on equipment, materials, and project progress using established reporting formats.
- Assist with invoice review and verification for accuracy when required.
- Support the resolution of freight claims, shipment discrepancies, tagging issues, and quantity variances.
- Communicate commercial and technical concerns to project team members and stakeholders.
- Coordinate logistics activities and site delivery requirements, including construction readiness and off-loading arrangements.
- Maintain electronic records and expediting files to support purchase order and contract closeout requirements.
- Collaborate regularly with vendors, engineering teams, contractors, quality teams, construction services, commissioning groups, logistics teams,
and other supply chain professionals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What's Needed?
- University degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, Economics and/or 4-7 years related oil and gas expediting experience.
- Knowledge of expediting best practices and understanding of logistics, purchasing, and project documentation requirements.
- Working knowledge of engineering and vendor documentation processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Excellent organizational, coordination, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, is considered an asset.
