Job Overview: As a Windows and Doors Delivery Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of windows and doors to residential and commercial customers. Your primary responsibility will be to transport these products from the warehouse or distribution center to designated delivery locations while maintaining the highest level of customer service and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Delivery Operations:
· Safely load, transport, and unload windows and doors onto delivery trucks.
· Plan and organize delivery routes to optimize efficiency and meet delivery schedules.
· Ensure the secure packaging and handling of products to prevent damage during transportation.
· Verify product orders and delivery instructions to minimize errors.
2. Vehicle Maintenance:
· Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safe and reliable operation of delivery vehicles.
· Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or damages to the supervisor promptly.
· Maintain delivery vehicles in a clean and orderly condition.
3. Customer Service:
· Provide exceptional customer service by delivering products professionally and courteously.
· Assist customers with unloading and inspecting delivered windows and doors.
· Address customer inquiries, concerns, or special requests promptly and effectively.
4. Documentation:
· Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts, delivery logs, and customer signatures.
· Submit delivery documentation in a timely manner to the appropriate department.
· Ensure all necessary paperwork, such as invoices and delivery instructions,
are completed accurately.
5. Safety Compliance:
· Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating delivery vehicles.
· Use appropriate safety equipment, including seatbelts and personal protective gear.
· Adhere to company-specific safety protocols and guidelines.
6. Communication:
· Maintain open and effective communication with the dispatch team and warehouse personnel.
· Report any issues related to delivery routes, traffic delays, or customer concerns to supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid commercial driver license CLASS G OR D
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or accidents.
- Prior experience as a delivery driver is preferred.
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and delivery routes.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift heavy windows and doors, often weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and follow delivery schedules.
Physical Requirements:
- This role may involve heavy lifting and physical labor.
