Istanbul Kebab House is a growing Turkish and Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Halifax. We take pride in serving authentic, high-quality dishes prepared with fresh ingredients and traditional cooking techniques, including our signature charcoal grill.
We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking Cook who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen and wants to be part of a friendly, professional team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
- Operate a traditional charcoal grill to prepare kebabs and other grilled specialties.
- Prepare meats, vegetables, sauces, and other ingredients for daily service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
- Assist with inventory, stock rotation, and receiving deliveries.
- Work efficiently during busy lunch and dinner services.
- Support teammates to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cook or line cook is preferred.
- Experience with charcoal grilling is an asset but training can be provided.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and food quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
- Food Safety Certification is an asset.
- Weekend and evening availability preferred.
