Glen Shields Pharmacy is a busy, independent retail pharmacy that has been serving the community since 1978. We pride ourselves on our friendly environment and commitment to quality service. We are seeking a long term, full time experienced and motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join our dedicated team.
The pharmacy is open Monday to Friday 9:30am to 8pm, Saturday 9:30am to 5pm. Closed Sundays and Public Holidays.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Pharmacy Assistant
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Knowledge of the Fillware computer system is an asset
- Availability for flexible hours (days, evenings, or Saturdays to cover shifts up to 10 hours at a time)
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing blister packaging and dispensing prescriptions
- Manage inventory, restock shelves, and check for expired medications
- Process prescriptions,
insurance claims, and payments accurately
- Greet and assist customers with professionalism and courtesy
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dispensary area
- Support daily pharmacy operations to ensure efficient workflow and ensuring compliance with safety protocols
- Engage in continuing education and professional development to stay current with pharmacy practices, products, and regulatory updates
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to enhance patient care
