Senior Business Analyst

Fernlea Flowers Ltd. is large North American grower and supplier of high-quality garden and potted plants with a head office located in Delhi, Ontario and farms in Florida.

We are seeking a highly analytical and technically skilled Business Analyst to support financial analysis, operational reporting, and business system optimization within our growing organization.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with large amounts of data, improving processes, and helping make informed operational and financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze large volumes of operational and financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and business opportunities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements
- Prepare audit working papers, supporting schedules, and account reconciliations to facilitate internal and external audits
- Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Prepare and post journal entries ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding items
- Reconcile subledger accounts to the general ledger to ensure data integrity and financial accuracy
- Prepare and file sales tax returns and other statutory remittances, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation




- Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and process documentation
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with system enhancements, workflow automation, and process improvements

· Assist the Finance team with other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or combination of education and related experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with large datasets and complex spreadsheets
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in wholesale, agriculture, manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-intensive environments is an asset
- Experience supporting operational and financial reporting in a business environment

Pay: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
