Job Summary:
The Shop Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the shop floor, ensuring an organized, efficient, and secure working environment that supports the company’s automation goals. This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining shop structure, scheduling jobs, and ensuring safety and compliance. The Shop Supervisor will drive operational excellence by managing resources effectively, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring timely fulfillment of machines and parts while adhering to budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the team to address technical challenges, troubleshoot issues. Support the team in overcoming obstacles by providing resources, expertise, and strategic direction. Assist in career planning, hiring and performance management as required
- Promote and recognize a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement, leveraging the team’s technical expertise to solve problems efficiently.
- Support successful system integration, debug, and customer acceptance, ensuring equipment meets functional, safety, and performance requirements
- Lead installation and commissioning planning, through efficient tear-down, shipping, and reassembly
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety by implementing and monitoring safe work practices. Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Ensure high-quality standards by proactively identifying design or manufacturing issues and collaborating with Engineering to resolve them early.
- Promote shop best practices in accordance with the engineering drawings and the company quality standards. Track quality checklists, NCRs and other project documents
- Ensure all shop-related documentation, including redlines, design changes, and process updates,



is accurately recorded and communicated to relevant teams or departments in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop floor layout to optimize workflow and productivity. Establish and enforce standard operating procedures to support operational consistency.
- Monitor and manage the supply of consumables, tools, and equipment, ensuring availability while adhering to budget guidelines. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or efficiency
- Coordinate and oversee all required shop inspections (e.g., crane inspections), ensuring they are completed on schedule and documented appropriately to maintain compliance and operational readiness.
- Oversee inventory management processes to ensure accuracy and availability of materials for projects
- Meet project deadlines as they relate to shop activities. Support engineering, programming and commissioning personnel as required to help them meet project deadlines.
- Actively support teams during machine build, integration, and debug phases to remove barriers and drive progress
- Oversee people planning and workload balancing, optimizing utilization and minimizing overtime while maintaining productivity

Qualifications:

- Qualified tradesperson (millwright, mechanic, electrician, etc.) preferred.
- 10 years of experience in shop management or a supervisory role within a manufacturing or technical environment, ideally related to automation equipment assembly.
- Proven ability to organize and maintain a shop floor, including equipment, and workflows.
- Experience with inventory control and order fulfillment processes, with a focus on accuracy.
- Demonstrated skills in scheduling and coordinating shop activities to meet production deadlines.

Pay: $110,000.00-$145,000.00 per year
