Join our growing, busy team as a Gas Compression Apprentice Mechanic. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to develop essential skills in the oil & gas industry with compression and rotating maintenance, mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and safety protocols. You will work closely with experienced technicians to learn how to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot complex equipment, ensuring optimal equipment operations. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to build a career in mechanics and maintenance within a quick-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with routine maintenance and inspections of equipment, including compressors, natural gas & diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
- Learn to read & interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams for troubleshooting purposes
- Gain experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation troubleshooting and repairs
- Assist with the use of field service tools
- Follow safety protocols related to general industrial maintenance
- Collaborate with team members on continuous improvement initiatives and technical support when applicable
Experience
- Enrolled in or completed a technical program related to industrial mechanics or mechanical maintenance
- Previous experience or exposure in a gas compression environment is preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards
- Strong analysis skills for diagnosing mechanical issues quickly and accurately
- Excellent communication skills in English are essential for effective teamwork and safety compliance
Must be local to Fort St. John for call outs and on call scheduling.

Pay: $31.00-$46.00 per hour
