The Maintenance Technician is an independent contractor who helps out on a part-time basis as needed and aids in the day-to-day maintenance and repair activities in accordance with operational targets/guidelines set out by management. This role looks to support the full-time team on an ad-hoc basis. The maintenance technician is to operate during normal business hours in addition to some on-call, after-hours periods. Role and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Follow work order tasks and log detailed work order progress/solutions
- Provide timely and accurate updates to service and/or property managers
- Ensure compliance within the RTA, OBC, OFC, CSA and TSA.
- Developing an understanding and working knowledge of the Arktos products and comply with safety protocol
- Ensure both the interior and exterior of the property are kept clean and orderly, and are in a positive state of repair
- Perform minor electrical work, minor plumbing work, drywall repairs, painting, carpentry, grounds maintenance, and other work as required
- Perform unit turnover maintenance to ensure rentable units are delivered to residents in a repaired and cleaned condition.
- Conduct unit or building inspections as needed and have a detailed eye for notable hazards or maintenance repair requirements
- Responsiveness to emergency calls and situations
- Additional responsibilities can include other general building operational tasks





Qualifications:

- 5 years of previous building maintenance, contracting/construction, or property management experience
- Bilingual in French and English considered an asset
- Proficiency with the web-based applications and scheduling software
- Excels in a high volume, dynamic and fast paced environment and enjoys new challenges
- Demonstrates excellent organizational and time management skills, high level of accuracy, and attention to detail
- Proven ability to work independently as well as display maturity of a competent self-starter
- Displays appropriate levels in behavioural based competencies such as teamwork, organization, problem solving and conflict resolution

Salary and Compensation

- Hourly rate based on experience

- Own/lease a truck/vehicle
- Own equipment to be used on job

Job Type
