Apex Wellness Centre

Canada

Apex Wellness Centre is a growing laser and skin clinic located on Spring Garden Road in Halifax. We are expanding into physician- or nurse-practitioner-directed injectable services, including neuromodulators and dermal fillers, and are seeking an experienced physician or nurse practitioner to serve as our authorized prescriber and clinical consultant.

For a physician candidate, the position may also include the formal role of Medical Director, depending on the agreed structure.

The Role

The position is designed to be organized, flexible and minimally disruptive to your existing practice.

Responsibilities would primarily include:

- Completing initial medical-aesthetics assessments
- Providing appropriate patient-specific prescriptions or treatment orders
- Completing brief reassessments when clinically required, including relevant dosage or treatment-plan changes
- Reviewing and approving the clinic’s core injectable protocols during onboarding
- Remaining reasonably available for occasional clinical consultation
- Supporting an appropriate escalation pathway for unusual outcomes or complications

Assessments may be conducted virtually where the clinician determines that virtual care is appropriate. Patients would initially be grouped into one organized weekly block of approximately 30 to 60 minutes, depending on volume.

There is no requirement to manage the clinic’s daily operations, supervise staff on a daily basis or personally perform injections unless mutually desired.

What Apex Provides

Apex will provide:

- Prepared patient charts and intake information
- Electronic documentation through Jane App
- Full booking and administrative support

- Patients grouped into convenient assessment blocks
- Established treatment rooms and clinical infrastructure
- A nurse injector with extensive previous injection experience who is completing advanced refresher education in neuromodulators and dermal fillers
- Clinic insurance and injectable-service coverage
- A written independent-contractor clinical-services agreement
- Clear expectations regarding availability, documentation, reassessments and complication management

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must:

- Be currently licensed and in good standing as a physician or nurse practitioner in a Canadian jurisdiction
- Have current education, experience and competence in medical aesthetics, including neuromodulators and dermal fillers
- Be legally and professionally authorized to provide the proposed services to patients located in Nova Scotia
- Hold qualified liability coverage applicable to private cosmetic practice and, where relevant, cross-jurisdictional virtual care
- Be available for one organized assessment block per week initially
- Be comfortable using electronic documentation and providing patient-specific treatment orders
- Be willing to work under a clearly defined independent-contractor agreement

Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canadian candidates are preferred due to the potential for occasional in-person availability. Physicians eligible for the Atlantic Registry are encouraged to apply. Qualified Canadian candidates interested in a predominantly virtual arrangement will also be considered, subject to regulatory and insurance verification.

Previous experience serving as an authorized prescriber, clinical consultant or Medical Director for an aesthetic clinic is strongly preferred.

Compensation

Compensation will include a guaranteed monthly retainer plus additional per-assessment fees.

The expected equivalent clinical rate is approximately $125 to $250 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, responsibilities and the final arrangement.

The position will begin with a three-month initial term, followed by a review based on actual patient volume, time commitment and responsibilities.
