O'Hanlon Paving a proud member of The Fath Group of Companies, has been a key player in the Edmonton, road construction industry for 70 years. We are currently looking for an experienced Asphalt Raker to work seasonally in a full-time capacity, in various locations throughout Edmonton. The successful candidate must be able to align with the company's core values: Commitment, Attitude and Respect.

Responsibilities:

· Spread asphalt using efficient techniques and maintaining the required pace for the job

· Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour and use of hands and tools

· Maintain and clean job site, pick up tools and equipment in order to eliminate potential hazards

· Other duties as required

Qualifications:

· Minimum 2 years of experience in Asphalt Raking supporting the Paving Crews is required

· Equipment experience with rollers and/or skid steer is preferred.

· Knowledge of the safe operation of associated tools and municipal road building industry is required

· Willingness and ability to perform strenuous physical work for prolonged periods of time and weekends often under pressure is required

· Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license or above with a clean drivers abstract

· High attention to detail,



strong communication skills and ability to follow directions is required

· Ability to work in varying weather conditions is required

· Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with little supervision is highly desirable

· Valid safety certifications are required

Additional Information:

· This is a seasonal position and starts in spring of every year

· This position is eligible for over-time

· Some travel outside of Edmonton may be required

· Training will be provided for various activities

· We offer excellent wages and perks eligibility after 3 months in which you may continue your benefits during the winter months (off season)

· Potential on call work during the winter months during snow removal and early spring sweeping season
