Job Description

We are seeking a Survey Drafter / Technician to support our Alberta operations.

This role focuses on survey data processing, drafting, surface modeling, and volume reporting in support of active construction projects.

Responsibilities

- Processing and managing survey data
- Building and maintaining surfaces (EG, stripping, subgrade, finished grade)
- Creating alignments, profiles, corridors, and grading models
- Producing plans, cross sections, and comparison surfaces
- Performing volume calculations (cut/fill, stripping, stockpile tracking)
- Preparing weekly and month-end quantity reports
- Preparing layout/stakeout files for field crews
- Exporting data (CSV, DXF,



LandXML) for machine control
- Interpreting IFC drawings and converting to construction-ready models
- Processing UAV/LiDAR datasets
- Performing QA/QC on all deliverables prior to submission

Job Requirements

- 3–7+ years of experience in construction surveying, drafting, or civil design
- Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center
- Experience in earthworks and road construction
- UAV/LiDAR experience considered an asset
- Robust attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license

Schedule & Work Expectations

- Overtime required based on project demands
- Extended workdays (up to 12 hours) are expected during peak construction periods
- Weekend work may be required during high-demand or critical project timelines

Education

- Diploma or Certificate in Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or Surveying
- Equivalent experience will be considered

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Acheson, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- Civil 3D: 3 years (required)
- Civil Infrastructure : 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 5 Licence (preferred)
