Summary
The Shop Foreman is responsible for the safe, efficient, and productive execution of fabrication activities within their assigned area. This role provides front-line leadership to shop employees, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, to quality standards, and in accordance with production priorities. The Shop Foreman serves as the primary link between production leadership and the shop floor, driving accountability, workforce development, operational performance, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
- Lead and support the shop floor team including fabricators, fitters, welders, operators, and labourers.
- Coordinate daily work activities to meet production schedules and priorities, instructing the team on best practices.
- Promote and enforce safe work practices and company safety standards.
- Monitor productivity, quality, and workflow within assigned areas, ensuring quality of workmanship.
- Coach, train, and develop employees to support team success.
- Ensure drawings, specifications,
and production requirements are understood and followed.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Shipping, and other teams.
- Identify and resolve operational issues that impact safety, quality, or production.
- Maintain organized work areas and support efficient material flow throughout the shop.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance shop performance.
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Provide information for production plans to ensure that production objectives are met.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in structural steel fabrication, heavy manufacturing, or a related industrial or construction environment.
- Previous supervisory, lead hand, or foreman experience.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive workplace.
- Possess a valid drivers license
- Experience with routine maintenance operations
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
Work Conditions
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lb
- Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
- Overtime as required
- Hazards associated with the trade
- Work both indoors and outdoors
Pay: $37.00-$44.00 per hour

Experience:
- Leadership: 3 years (preferred)
- over head crane: 2 years (preferred)
