Compensation: $32.00–$39.00 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience) + Performance Bonus

About Us

Kelowna Early Explorers Academy is a licensed early learning centre committed to providing exceptional care and education in a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Centre Director to lead our team, oversee daily operations, and help us continue building one of Kelowna’s premier childcare centres.

Salary

Compensation is based on qualifications, leadership experience, and demonstrated performance.

$32.00–$33.99/hour

- BC ECE Certificate required
- 2–3 years of supervisory, Lead Teacher, or team leadership experience in a licensed childcare centre

$34.00–$35.99/hour

- 3–5 years of experience as an Assistant Director, Centre Manager, or similar leadership role
- Experience managing staff, daily operations, and licensing compliance

$36.00–$39.00/hour

- 5+ years of successful experience as a Centre Director or Child Care Operations Manager
- Proven ability to lead a licensed childcare centre, support enrolment growth, maintain licensing compliance, and develop high-performing teams

A salary review will be completed after the successful completion of the 3-month probationary period.

Responsibilities

- Lead the daily operations of the childcare centre
- Ensure compliance with BC Child Care Licensing Regulations
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and evaluate educators
- Manage staffing schedules and classroom ratios
- Support enrolment and conduct parent tours
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff




- Maintain licensing records and operational documentation
- Support budgeting, purchasing, and inventory management
- Promote a positive, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture
- Work closely with the Owner to achieve operational and business goals

Qualifications

Required

- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Employer is unable to provide LMIA or visa sponsorship.

Preferred

- Infant Toddler (IT ECE) Certification
- Special Needs Educator (SNE) Certification
- Experience managing a licensed childcare centre
- Experience with staff recruitment, coaching, and retention
