Overview
Under general supervision of the Housekeeping Manager/Housekeeping Supervisor the houseperson will provide janitorial and maintenance support by ensuring that the premises are always clean and tidy. They will prepare rooms for guests and ensure that meeting rooms are set up as required, clean, well equipped and neat and tidy.

These professionals are also responsible for cleaning the lobby and bathrooms along with stocking guest rooms with necessary items like soaps, tissues and towels.

Responsibilities

- Maintain and clean public areas, bathrooms, and work areas
- Clean furnishings and carpets
- Clean and maintain common areas within the hotel
- Reply guests’ questions and handle any concerns
- Assist front desk staff when required
- Replenish supplies in guest rooms and stock housekeeping storage areas
- Change bed linens and empty trash as required
- Assist housekeeping staff with requests
- collect laundry and garbage as required

Requirements

- Prior experience in cleaning, custodial work, or hospitality is highly desirable; hotel experience is a must
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and industrial cleaning equipment preferred




- Excellent time management skills to complete tasks within scheduled shifts
- Ability to lift moderate loads and stand for extended periods during shifts
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as needed
- A positive attitude with strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to multi task
- Supports hotel standards and contributes to the delivery of consistent guest service.
- Solicits guest feedback and alerts Department Head to all opportunities for improvement.
- Assist our guests with information about services and amenities that our hotel offers.
- Demonstrates commitment to understand, anticipate and fulfill the needs of our guests.
- Observes and ensures compliance by Housekeeping staff with the hotel's key control procedures.
- Follows the health and safety guidelines.
- Responsible for communicating any safety issues in the hotel, such as: broken glass, wet floors, any maintenance issue that can create an injury, etc.
- Responsible to communicate any injury that occurs while working to their immediate supervisor or manager.
